A New Bathtub - Great For Revitalising Your Bathroom

When it comes to redecorating and refurbishing the house, the bathroom is often neglected. For some reason we don't seem to be able to turn our creative talents as easily to the bathroom as we do to other spaces in our house. I'm not entirely sure where this reluctance to tackle the bathroom stems from but I think it's probably related to the fact that the bathroom, for most of us is a tight, awkward space. For such a small room we have to fit so much in, wash basin, toilet, shower and a bath if we can manage it!

It's true, doing some meaningful work to revitalise your bathroom, that extends to more than just new tiles or a lick of paint does require a little thought. Once you recognise where to direct your efforts for the best return, it's not too difficult to revamp your bathroom.

By far the most influential element in terms of the style and feel of the bathroom is the bathtub.

How effective your attempts to revamp your bathroom are, all hinge on what you decide to do or not do with the bathtub. It's by far the biggest 'must have' element of the bathroom so it stands to reason it's the most significant element when it comes to re-doing the bathroom.

The good news is, you have more choice now than ever before when deciding to change your bathroom. If your bathroom has the standard five foot long tub and you want to give the room a new fresher look, trust me, getting rid of that old tub it the only way forward!

If space is your issue, you'll be better off considering a corner bath tub. These are fantastic in tighter bathrooms. Using up a 'dead' corner they free up the other more valuable space often used by the old standard bath tub. Visually they are a massive improvement on a standard tub.

Once someone has decided to go to the effort of changing the tub, they often take the opportunity to spice up their bathing experience by going with something a little different. Deep soaking tubs are a great option if you really like the idea of a long hot soak in the bath but could never quite manage it in your standard bathtub. The difference with the deep soaking tub is that it has higher side walls allowing you to relax in deeper water, you can therefore get a full body soak, a real treat if you've struggled with your standard tub for years.

If you want to go 'all out' in the style stakes and really wow anyone using your bathroom, the ultimate in bathroom elegance has to be the freestanding bathtub. Often referred to as a clawfoot tub, these add a really unusual feel to the bathroom space, the spaciousness achieved is something most of us aren't used to in a bathroom. Unfortunately the freestanding bathtub isn't for everybody! We can't cheat the laws of physics; your bathroom will have to be generously proportioned in the first instance if you want to pull off the freestanding bathtub look effectively.
